Jan Conn’s most recent book of poetry is Edge Effects (Brick Books, 2012). Other books include Botero’s Beautiful Horses (Brick Books, 2009), Jaguar Rain: the Margaret Mee Poems (Brick Books, 2006) and Beauties on Mad River: Selected and New Poems (Vehicule Press, 2000). Her work is included in many literary journals and several recent anthologies including Penned – Zoo Poems, Vehicule Press, 2009, Best Canadian Poetry in English Anthology, 2009 and 2011, and Regreen: New Canadian Ecological Poetry, Your Scrivener Press, 2009 and Pith & Wry: Canadian Poetry, Your Scrivener Press, 2010.
Prizes include the 2006 Malahat Review PK Page Founders’ Award and a 2003 CBC Literary Award. Her third book, South of the Tudo Bem Café (Vehicule Press, 1990), was shortlisted for the Pat Lowther Award. She is a member of the collaborative writing group Yoko’s Dogs ( http://yokosdogs.com/ ).
